Every time I see one of these flowers or hear its name, I think of the movie "The Music Man" and Amaryllis, that little piano student who was Winthrop's nemesis. "Amaryllith, Amaryllith." Poor Winthrop, he had such a hard time with that name! Ron Howard has come a long way since that movie was made, hasn't he?
This beautiful plant is blooming in the office window of a work colleague.

I love these showy blooms.
My grandmother had a big collection. The plant itself is not a big deal but the blooms are great.
