Monsoon Clouds

One more monsoon cloud shot from Thursday. As I write this, it is raining heavily here in Phoenix. I love it!

The skies over Phoenix are always pretty after a good monsoon storm. Hope your having a good weekend.

The summer desert storms are indeed dramatic, including the vertical wall of clouds that at times sweep in, which you have captured well.

excellent sky photo with the blue and the clouds. I love monsoon time. I have been so busy with the remodel though I have not been able to go out and get lightning photos on long exposures. I hope another monsoon comes our way next weekend. It was great to have rain. If you can believe it, the monsoon that came through two weeks ago woke us up at 3 am as though a tree in our yard had been hit by lightning. All of the hair on my arms went up and it shook our house. It turned out that the house two doors down from us to the north got a direct lightning hit to that house at the master bedroom. The couple who live there were alright but the lightning strike traveled through their house and burned up numerous electrical devices. They have been spending a lot of time finding and replacing items. that was close call and sort of weird that the lightning would hit their master bedroom.

Super photo! Envious that you got rain... it missed us, but we were thrilled by skies non-the-less.

Awesome photo!

ewie, Julie! *shivers* My neighbor's house was hit by lightening twice - not much damage, but one time was REALLY wierd. The lightening traveled down the chimney, out the fireplace and then went across the room and hit her son. He was okay - but that was crazy! Lots of metal will attract lightening... not stuff to be messed with!
