Theme Day - Night

On May 11th, I introduced my followers to "Her Secret Is Patience", a major art piece by artist Janet Echelman that is the centerpiece of a new park in downtown Phoenix called The Civic Space Park. At the time, I only had my small point and shoot camera with me so the photo I published wasn’t as clear as it could be. In late June, I headed down to the park with my good camera and a tripod and took a few more photos in varying exposures. This one facing away from the tall buildings of downtown Phoenix was a favorite.

I have photographed this wonderful piece in the daytime, but at night is when it truly shines.

I think this is my favorite CDP NIGHT photo so far! You AZ daily photo people are starting to make me think I need to plan a vacation to AZ. With the Chilhuly glass in Scottsdale, this light event in Phoenix. So much art!!!!

Thank you for your comment about my total solar eclipse photo today. I apologize for being absent from commenting on your site during the past several weeks when Julie and I were away on a ship in the South Pacific to reach the site of the solar eclipse.

I have caught up with your blog during my absence and love your series on the historic home neighborhoods. Well done.

For a point and shoot, the clarity is very good. What a great nighttime subject this is. I do hope to see more night shots of this interesting piece.

Beautiful shot. It looks like it could be used as an illustration in a geometry textbook except it is too beautiful.
