Keeping it Green

It takes a lot of water to keep a lush golf course located in the middle of the desert green. On my way to the Friday morning meeting at The Boulders Resort, I got a glimpse of the powerful water sprinklers that help to keep it green.

A grass golf course in a desert environment makes little ecological sense, but I guess that has never stopped people doing it anyway. The picture is great though. It is promising a new hot day.

I have to agree with the comment from Buenos Aires Photoblog. Water in the desert is so important. Some of the parks here are using reclaimed water to keep the baseball fields green. I wonder if they are doing that in the Phoenix area. It made for a pretty picture though.

A wonderful picture-- but yes, one that made me cringe a little. Even up here in the "wet" northwest we've been restricting our water usage. Seems like the golf courses are always exempt, though!

Nice composition and great capture of the water jets.
