Willo Home Tour

Getting back to the weekend before last and all the entertaining events I crammed into that weekend, today’s post is a photo from the Willo Historic District’s 21st annual home tour. The event is scheduled for the second Sunday in February and includes tours of homes in this historic neighborhood that have been beautifully restored and decorated. Most of the homes in this area were built in the 1920’s and 30’s and are architecturally diverse with Spanish Revival, Tudor, and American Colonial among the many styles. It’s a special treat to be able to see how these beautiful homes have been lovingly maintained.

This year we experienced some rare weather conditions with rain falling all night before the event and all that morning. However, the rains cleared up by mid-afternoon leaving beautiful blue skies full of gorgeous cloud formations. Judging from the lines of people waiting to get into the houses, the rain didn’t spoil the event.

I have very good friends who live in the Willo District and every year during this event, they have a party on their driveway and invite friends to stop by during the tour. It is always a fun time and a good place to run into friends you haven’t seen in a while. The small photo shows the gathering in on thier lawn and drive.

What a coincidence! We're going on a house tour today, and I relish it because in previous years, it has been spectacular. I hope that you have some photos that you will soon post.

I used to love this tour. I wish I had entered my house on the tour.
