Valley Metro Light Rail….Preview

Today is the grand opening of the new Valley Metro Light Rail running between Mesa, Tempe, and Phoenix. This is a day that many of us have been eagerly waiting for. I was lucky enough to get an early morning preview ride (Thanks Tom) on Friday morning along with a lot of media people, politicians, and merchants who have businesses along the route.

Grand opening celebrations will be going on all along the route today with big events in downtown Phoenix and Tempe and smaller events at other locations. It is expected that over 200,000 people will participate and I will be one of them. I hope to catch another ride today and stop at some of the event locations.

We love the metro trolley here in San Diego. It looks much like your new system. Congrats. You will love it.

Hurray! It's here! It was so crowded today I decided to hold off on my first ride. Your preview ride must have been so nice.

Wow! This is exciting! Do you think it will help reduce commuter traffic on the freeways there?
