Camelback Corridor, Part 5

This is the tunnel under Camelback Road that connects the Biltmore Fashion Park Shopping Center with The Esplanade Complex and the Ritz Carlton Hotel. This tunnel was built as a step to help solve the problem of people dangerously crossing busy Camelback Road in places not meant for pedestrians.

It hardly looks like a tunnel -- I usual think of tunnels and dark, dingy passageways. They put a lot of effort into making sure this one did not look like that

Such a great idea, to have a nice and safe walkway for pedestrians! I lived in the US for many years, and always found it a shame when the safest way to simply go across the street to a different shop or mall was to get into my car and drive!!

That is a beautiful crossway tunnel!

Remember our cacti have bloom more or less at the same time? Well mine had a new flower a couple of days ago! You can see it on my 'nature' blog if you like :-)

Wow that underpass looks glorious! I'd love to see a close-up of some of that floor tiling sometime.

Nice one Sharon. That looks like a tunnel built by a mall developer. We have tunnels under roadways built by the city and you're almost afraid to go into them they're so grungy. But I must admit they are better now than they used to be.

this is the prettiest tunnel I've ever seen. What a nice place to cross through and safely too away from the dangers of traffic...nice photo!
