Cactus Flower

I discovered this blooming cactus in my backyard today. I have never seen this cactus bloom before so I was excited when I saw the long stems yesterday. Today I had two beautiful white flowers. There appears to be more buds so maybe I’ll get more blooms as the days pass.

That is a echinopsis of some kind; mine had two gorgeous flowers the other day (you can see them on my 'piece of nature...' blog); it blooms every year and sometimes more than once! Pitty the flowers won't last more than 24h...
Greetings

It's beautiful. When cacti flower it's worth all the spikey bits before!

How great! A cactus in my mother's garden in Austin bloomed this year for the first time in 40 years! (The next day, the blossoms were gone -- the deer ate them.)

My echeveria have long stemmed pink blooms right now. For some reason, succulent blooms seem more special and exciting when they appear!

Cacti are certainly fascinating plants, part of which is the mystery surrounding them...will they or will they not bloom this year?

How beautiful!

Since I live in the NE, I've never even seen a cactus actually growing. Let alone see one flowering.

This looks almost prehistoric. It is the sort of thing that I expect to see deep down in the oceans.

Did these flowers last any longer than 24 hours?

Julie, no they didn't last past 24 hours. So sad.
